Harvest update

Harvesting is usually the busiest time of the year for wineries and this year is no exception. Harvest period kicked off in early March when our first Pinot Noir grapes were harvested and delivered to the winery for our 2016 harvest team to guide them on their journey to wine, destined for a NANO near you!

Since the arrival of those first Pinot Noir grapes, we have been busy picking, crushing, punching-down, fermenting and testing each parcel of grapes. Our vineyard teams in Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough have been tasting and testing, picking our fruit at exactly the right moment to ensure perfect ripeness and intense fruit flavour.

Even thought each vintage is different, one thing remains consistent at Sileni Estates – there is never a dull moment in the winery! Pictured here is a bunch of our Sauvignon Blanc grapes, enjoying some last rays of Marlborough sunshine.
